What a great experience. I received this workshop as a Xmas gift and was thrilled to spend the day in the 140 year old baking room next to the Scotch oven, with a lovely group of people and the expert guidance of Alan Reid. As an absolute novice I was super impressed with how Alan led us through the science of bread, the finesse of the process and the patient support provided as we churned out and magnificent bounty of sourdough goodies to take home with us at the end of the day. We were filled with coffee, a delicious lunch and inspiration to start or reinvigorate our sourdough home-baking journeys.
I can only give my highest recommendation/encouragement for anyone considering this course or contemplating a gift for someone that you care about.
Absolutely wonderful experience - go ahead and book, you really "knead" to do this!
This class was fantastic. The day was a mixture of fun, hands-on bread making, lots of detailed scientific information shared, and an abundance of beautiful loaves to take home. And the coffees and beautiful lunch just added to a brilliant day. Thanks Alan, for sharing your knowledge so freely and pacing the class to cater for lots of different ability and skill levels. You are amazing. I would highly recommend this class to anyone.
